Educating Consumers on LLCs, 1031 Tax Exchanges, Trusts, Power of Attorney, and EstatesTopic "F" | 1.5 Hours
This practical course helps REALTORS® confidently navigate conversations with clients about some of the most common legal and financial considerations that arise in real estate transactions. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of Limited Liability Companies (LLCs), 1031 Tax Exchanges, trusts, powers of attorney, and estate-related property sales, while learning how to communicate these concepts effectively without providing legal or tax advice.
Through real-world examples, educational templates, and guided discussions, attendees will learn when these tools may be relevant to buyers and sellers, how to identify situations that require professional legal or financial guidance, and how to demonstrate the value of working with a REALTOR® during complex transactions. Topics include asset protection and ownership structures, tax-deferred exchanges, estate planning considerations, powers of attorney in real estate transactions, probate and estate sales, and best practices for referring clients to qualified professionals.
The course also includes interactive role-playing exercises designed to strengthen communication skills and build confidence when discussing these topics with consumers. By the end of the session, participants will be better equipped to educate clients, manage expectations, and serve as a trusted real estate resource while remaining within the scope of their professional expertise.
