Topic “A” | 3.0 Hours
Required by ALL licensees after first renewal.
Stay informed and compliant with the latest changes impacting Maryland real estate practice. This comprehensive Legal & Legislative Update course provides REALTORS® with a detailed review of significant legislation, regulatory updates, and legal trends affecting the industry. Participants will gain an understanding of the legislative process and examine newly enacted laws related to residential real estate transactions, housing affordability, fair housing, landlord-tenant relations, licensing requirements, advertising regulations, common ownership communities, and business practices.
The course also explores recent updates to contract disclosures, brokerage agreements, continuing education requirements, housing incentives, mortgage assumptions, and emerging legal issues affecting property owners, landlords, tenants, and real estate professionals. Special attention is given to fair housing protections, protected classes, discrimination regulations, and evolving compliance responsibilities.
By the end of this course, attendees will be better equipped to navigate Maryland’s changing legal landscape, reduce risk, maintain compliance, and provide informed guidance to clients in today's real estate market.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation requests must be submitted to Coastal Association of REALTORS® in writing via email to info@coastalrealtors.org at least twelve (12) hours prior to the scheduled class start time.
Registrants who do not attend a complimentary class and fail to provide the required advance written notice will be considered a no-show and will be invoiced for the standard tuition fee associated with the class.
CAR may cancel courses due to low registration up to two days prior to the date of the class. In the event that CAR must cancel a course, all those who paid for registration will issued a refund.
