Description

MREC Broker Supervision
Topic "I" | 1.5 Hours
Required for Brokers, Managers & Team Leaders

Strong supervision is essential to protecting the public, maintaining compliance, and reducing brokerage risk. This required course provides Maryland brokers, branch office managers, and team leaders with a comprehensive review of their supervisory responsibilities under Maryland real estate law and regulations.

Participants will examine the legal standards for reasonable and adequate supervision, understand the unique responsibilities associated with overseeing independent contractors, and learn how effective policies, procedures, and training programs help create a culture of compliance. The course also addresses common areas where supervisory failures occur, including property management, unlicensed assistants, open houses, disclosures, advertising, document review, social media, and real estate investment activities involving licensees.

Through practical examples and discussion of frequently cited compliance issues, attendees will gain strategies for reducing liability, strengthening oversight, and ensuring their brokerage meets Maryland Real Estate Commission requirements. Whether you're a newly appointed supervisor or an experienced broker seeking to fulfill the biennial education requirement, this course provides valuable guidance for leading with confidence and professionalism.
