Coastal Association of REALTORS® Invests in Excellence Through National Communications Training

The Coastal Association of REALTORS® is committed to providing members with timely, relevant, and engaging communication.

The Coastal Association of REALTORS® is committed to providing members with timely, relevant, and engaging communication. As part of that commitment, Communications Director Veronica Bishop recently attended the 2026 Communication Directors Institute (CDI), hosted by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Communication Directors Institute is the premier professional development event for communications professionals serving state and local REALTOR® associations. The annual conference equips attendees with new strategies, practical tools, and innovative ideas to strengthen member communications, public relations, media outreach, digital marketing, and organizational storytelling. It also provides valuable opportunities for networking and collaboration among communication professionals from REALTOR® associations across the country.

During the three-day institute, Veronica participated in educational sessions focused on emerging communication trends, member engagement, content strategy, crisis communications, social media best practices, and the effective use of technology to better serve association members. The conference emphasized the importance of delivering clear, consistent, and meaningful communications that help REALTORS® stay informed and connected in an ever-changing industry.

One of the highlights of the conference was the opportunity to collaborate with fellow communications professionals from Maryland REALTORS®, including colleagues from the Frederick County Association of REALTORS® (FCAR), Anne Arundel County Association of REALTORS® (AACAR), and the Harford County Association of REALTORS® (HCAR). Veronica also exchanged ideas and best practices with communication directors representing REALTOR® associations from across the United States, creating new professional relationships that will continue to benefit Coastal Association members well beyond the conference.

"One of the greatest values of CDI is the opportunity to learn from professionals who face many of the same communication challenges and opportunities we do," said Bishop. "Bringing those ideas back to Coastal Association of REALTORS® allows us to continually improve how we connect with our members, promote the value of REALTOR® membership, and tell the story of the important work our association does throughout the community."

The knowledge and resources gained through CDI will be incorporated into future Coastal Association communications, including newsletters, social media, educational promotions, advocacy messaging, member engagement initiatives, and public outreach efforts.

By investing in ongoing professional development, the Coastal Association of REALTORS® continues to strengthen its ability to deliver exceptional service and meaningful communications that support the success of its members.
